No, we did not get a dog. 
It has been at least three weeks since the kids have been outside to play. It has just been too cold and today was the first day in weeks that it seems like it's been past 35 degrees. So we kicked our selves outside and the kids found a frozen stream to play on. Of course they fell down, landed on there bums and got right back up to do it again.

Nothing in life is better than a concussion from playing on ice, just ask my brother he got one in the 3rd grade from doing just that.
